Indian Chamber of Commerce & Bihar government Organise Investors Meet in Kolkata
Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), in collaboration with the Bihar Government’s Department of Industries, hosted an Investor’s Meet & Industry Interaction on July 1, 2024, at Portico Plus, Taj Bengal, Kolkata. The event, attended by Shri Nitish Mishra, the Honorable Minister, and Shri Sandeep Poundrik, IAS, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Industries, aimed to promote investment opportunities in Bihar.
Key topics discussed included Bihar’s strategic location, abundant natural resources, skilled workforce, investor-friendly policies, and ease of doing business. The state’s infrastructure development efforts, including roads, railways, ports, airports, and digital infrastructure, were highlighted to demonstrate the government’s commitment to creating a conducive business environment.
Government policies such as investment incentives, subsidies, tax breaks, and other supportive measures were also presented. Sector-specific details were shared for agriculture and food processing, textiles, leather, IT & ITES, and electrical & electronic hardware manufacturing. Successful companies that had invested in Bihar and thrived were showcased to emphasize the state’s business-friendly environment, supportive ecosystem, and growth potential.
